Hi Folks,

Aunt Nancy and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend with Aunt Patti (Nancy’s sister) and Uncle Bill, attending a wedding in Nebraska, thanks to the grueling 7 hr drives each way by Uncle Bill making it all possible. Not only did it reach our expectations, we came back felling that it rose above our expectations. It was up to Uncle Bill to make it happen; again, thanks Bill.

We were booked at a motel named Oak Tree Inn. It was a shot in the dark. When we got there, we saw a sign that read: Lobby in the Diner. We thought what did we get ourselves into? But it turned out to be a great experience. As Uncle Bill put it, a great business model. The service was super.

When we started our PIRC program 20 years ago, we set a three reunion agenda with a mission to keep the PIRC Cousinhood connected. It was met with mixed feelings. Some felt we’d do well to just get the first one in. After we got the first one in some felt the mission was too modest. Not only did we sail through the three scheduled reunions with the good economic times but we squeezed in a fourth with our largest attendance yet in NC. Then 9/ll struck. Our next two reunions proved to more challenging due to the changing economic dynamic of our country as well as the changing dynamic of our maturing 7 family groups.

As we look ahead to our next reunion in Florida, to be hosted by Aunt Priss and Uncle Dan’s family group to wrap up a 7 reunion PIRC program, can we say we met our goals? YOU BET WE DID!!!

We not only kept the 24 PIRC Cousinhood connected, but we enjoyed the development of a family song, family web-site and PIRC-O-GRAM, our family communication network. And the best is yet to come.

As difficult as it was to get the last one in last summer, a new life emerged; the next PIRC generation played a major roll hosting our family reunion of 2011. And true to form this reunion had its own unique flavor with two outdoor picnics. And still we had our elegant banquet, this time a breakfast banquet sandwiched between the two picnics. We cut it close financially, but we got-er in. Not to worry, we will be just fine come our next reunion in Florida. And no, it won’t be the end of our PIRC program. It will just take on an adjustment to accommodate the changing dynamic of our seven family groups. The timing will depend on better economic times.

Your loving Uncle, brother, cousin, brother-in-law, Dad, and Papoo.

…. Uncle Tony
